We now know that our two brain hemispheres process information differently (left - right division) and our cortical (thinking) and limbic (feeling) functions are distinct (top-down). Poor feedback is half-brained and sabotages learning - which, ironically, is the purpose of all feedback!
Left-brained feedback is brutally honest, disregards safety, and triggers defensiveness. On the other hand, right-brained feedback is full of compassion, devoid specificity, and therefore not-actionable to serve learning.
Feedback is critical for growth. We must do better and we can. We can learn to tap into our whole brain to give and receive feedback with candor and compassion.
full of empathy and lacking specificity.

The workshop taught me the process for giving and receiving feedback, it requires using our whole brain, left, right, upper and lower and using the three steps feedback process.
I found it helpful to know that both the giver and receivers of feedback bring all four "characters" to each interaction.
A great experience with many practical takeaways.
Though I joked early on about the duration, the time went by very fast and never once did I feel disengaged. Thank you, Ajit!
